This case file — The site you are on, in a new edition. A static Astro build at the root, custom PHP 8.3 apps on the sub-routes and SQLite as the store for all of them — no CMS, no framework in the presentation layer. The new case files are hand-written HTML and CSS: one stylesheet, 2 KB of theme script, fonts served from the same box, zero trackers.

What was built

  • New case files: one index and a separate page per project
  • Hand-written HTML/CSS, no build step in the presentation layer
  • Local fonts (Fraunces, IBM Plex Sans, IBM Plex Mono) from the same box
  • Dark and light theme with no flash on load
  • Accessibility: semantic HTML, visible focus, clean print
  • No trackers, no analytics scripts, no cookies
